They’ll make sure that the dehumidifier is working, and that my central A/C system is up to speed. This year was the first year out of many where I didn’t have that inspection performed by an HVAC service technician. Let me tell you, I’m kicking myself hard for that! Since we had this terrible thunderstorm roll through town, we’ve been experiencing sporadic power outages. At the beginning of this storm, the power grid went haywire – and my home and all electronics within were damaged! That included my central A/C system, as well as the dehumidifier that’s built into my unit. Can you imagine how hot and humid it was in my house after I lost the functionality of those two systems? There’s something wrong with my air conditioning system – I just don’t know what it is.

See, I’ve been living in this cozy little condo for about six years now.

For all but the past two weeks, it’s been a pleasant six years full of good memories and great friends. However, all of my friends are now out of town for a few weeks, and my memories are being soured by terrible air conditioning! You’d think that the condo property management would have stepped in by now, but they have yet to make any changes to address the A/C issues here. I’ve complained to everyone who will listen, and told them that the condo has been far too hot for me to be comfortable, let alone dry and cool! The air conditioning in this place has been provided by a window A/C unit for quite some time, too. We used to have central heating and air conditioning, but that broke down right before I moved in. Since the window A/C unit has worked pretty well and without any issues, I figured it wasn’t worth trying to get the central air conditioning back online. Now I’m kicking myself for that lapse in judgement! Without any air conditioning, whether from the central system or from the window A/C unit, I have terrible air quality inside my home. I need to get in touch with an A/C repair technician as soon as I can – otherwise, this condo will quickly become uninhabitable!

After being sold on it by my local heating and cooling company, I decided to go for it and get a zoned HVAC system as my heating and cooling upgrade. The zoned HVAC system was going to be a little more pricey than getting a general brand new central heating and air conditioning system, but I decided to go for it, because of how good the whole aspect of HVAC zone control sounded. After all the work was done installing the zoned HVAC system, all the thermostats were installed and put in place, I was shockingly not too impressed with HVAC zone control! I began to think, what is the point of this? My house had perfect temperature control in it, and the air flow in the house was never uneven. I am not sure why I bought into the whole sales pitch of HVAC zone control! I guess you could call it buyers remorse. I was thinking about calling back the HVAC company that talked me into this zoned HVAC system to begin with, and then ask them to get rid of it and refund me. However, what would doing that solve? Nothing really. It is not like I would get a refund on the installation work that the heating and air conditioning specialist did, obviously. And, after all was said and done, I would only end up having to spend more money for the installation of another type of central HVAC system. So, I guess it looks like I am going to be stuck with this zoned HVAC system unit! I’ll just end up setting all the thermostats to the same exact temperature throughout the house.
