When you live where I live, you do not want to go without air conditioning.
- Even before global warming was all the rage, we suffered from the heat.
If you didn’t have some kind of air conditioning, or really strong fans in your house, you can survive here. We had marshy grasslands all over the place, and our average summer temperature was 92°. Humidity was always off the charts, and you could read about someone dying from heat stroke in their own house. We used to watch our parents very closely to make sure they had air conditioning when summer arrived. We never wanted to see one of our parents or family members become a statistic from heatstroke. Then it seemed to be our turn to have air conditioning woes. I woke up early one morning, and couldn’t understand how unbelievably hot and humid it was in our home. We had gone to bed with a dry 70°. When I woke up at 4 AM, it was 75° and humid. The air conditioner must’ve just quit working. My thought was to hope that the AC unit was just the one coolant, but I wasn’t so sure this was going to be the problem. I called the HVAC company and told them that I needed to have the air conditioning unit inspected as soon as possible and explained about the heat humidity. That afternoon, they put my worries to rest. He told me it was definitely low on coolant, but I also needed a fan motor. He had a spare fan motor in the service van, and had the air conditioning unit repaired within an hour after showing up.
