One thing I have managed to learn about having your home’s heating and air conditioning equipment function best is to use much less air vents.
For instance, if you are not using the air vents in your living room while every one of us were in the afternoon hours, then you should actually shut those air vents and only have the 2 in the dining room going.
Utilizing only 2 air vents will make that air flow from the central heating and air conditioning equipment move faster. The same as if you are not in the living room, close off the air vent… What happens is the air will all flow out of the 2 air vents that will be in the dining room and it will end up heating or cooling more than just a small area. It will work to spread itself out to basically everywhere on the ground floor near the dining room as well. This was a tip that our local heating and air conditioning equipment specialist gave to myself and others to try! And it actually works well. It also helps save a little bit of energy use because your central heating and air conditioning equipment does not have to task quite as hard to reach the desired temperature set on the temperature control. Which in turn will also save you a tremendous amount of money on your energy costs. I have already seen a small decrease in our weekly energy bill ever since I have started to do this with the air vents in our property! My central heating and air conditioning equipment also works smoother too because of having to work much less.
