I was pretty sure that the next time I had the a/c component repaired, it was going to be the last time.
I knew I had to have the a/c component repaired before summer time brought on the worst of its heat.
I carefully diagnosed the balance in my checkbook then prayed it would not cost more than $500 for the repairs. If the bill went over $500, I was in trouble. I called the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C company and put in a toil order for a/c repairs, then after answering several questions about what was happening that made me guess there was a problem, the dispatcher set up a date and time for the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C tech to arrive. I had a week to get paid and put a few more dollars in my bank, but I was afraid it would not be enough. When the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C worker arrived, I tried to be positive. I was partly joking when I told him that I hoped she worked cheap, although she understood.. It took less than fifteen minutes before she came inside and told me the compressor was shot and I would need to have the AC component replaced. I wanted to guess what it would cost to replace the compressor. The Heating, Ventilation, and A/C tech said it was usually better to just replace the compressor. As much as I hated the idea, I knew she was right. I asked if I could use my $500 as a down payment and pay the rest in installments. She provided me a number and said the director would toil everything out with him.
