I feel really sorry for the Wilson boys.
They are five, seven, and nine and my eight year old son plays with them all the time.
Their father is in prison, and their mother works as a daytime barmaid at the local watering hole for alcoholics. She doesn’t make much money. And wouldn’t you know that it was the middle of a cold snap when her gas tank ran dry and they lost their heat. The Wilson boys’ mother didn’t have the money to get the gas tank filled and the boys were cold. I found this out over the weekend when the boys just didn’t want to go home. Even the five year old wanted to stay and spend the night. I couldn’t send those boys home with no heat. So, I went on a local social media site and started a gofundme account to get this family some gas so they could heat their home. It took only 24 hour to come up with enough for a tank of gas, with some left over for cheap space heaters. I would have just paid for it myself, but I just couldn’t spare that much money. But, first thing Monday morning, I emptied the gofundme account and paid for a tank of gas to be delivered to the Wilson family so that they could have heat, and I bought them three tower space heaters. I think it’s a great thing when the community can come together and help meet the needs of others, and now the Wilson boys have heat.
