I took a job working for a new corporation & now I am the administrator for a relatively new hospital that opened recently. The hospital is located in one of the nicest spots in the town & the corporation that built the hospital did not spare any expense when constructing the building. Each one of the hospital buildings has a separate energy management system. The energy management system powers the heating, AC, lighting, & the security & fire alarms. The unique system measures the energy usage throughout each building, however I saw the control room when I took a tour of the hospital. The energy management system is so impressive that an Heating, Ventilation, & A/C equipment specialist has to lay in the control room to monitor the system all the time. The building is consistently cool & cozy. The indoor temperatures are entirely the same throughout each space of the building. There are no actual spots where the uneven temperatures are higher or lower than other areas. Each separate section throughout the building has air filtration equipment that is set up with a UV air cleaner & an electrostatic air filter. The energy management system must have cost a ton of cash! Right now everything works well enough, however as time goes by & the building starts to age, it’s going to be fairly time-consuming & luxurious to maintain things that break down in the near future. It is honestly a problem that I have in the back of my mind. It’s going to be my job to find some experts to handle the repairs to this extremely sophisticated system.
