This was the final exam so that I could graduate from junior high.
The test due was chemistry practical.
The practical session involved us mixing a series of chemicals to create a certain chemical compound. To get the desired chemical compound, we had to ensure the room was at a certain temperature. This could only be achieved by setting the temperature with the help of the programmable thermostat. The school had not anticipated that the ductless mini split would malfunction during the test. The temperatures increased in the lab as the heating and cooling equipment ground to a halt. The test was postponed to later that afternoon. A/C reps were called to perform the HVAC service plan, a step that had been neglected when preparing the lab for the test. They replaced the heat exchanger of the commercial air conditioning system from the local air conditioning business. The cooling expert also changed the quality air conditioner filter. The test was further postponed to the next day when they were unable to get one quality HVAC equipment needed for the smart HVAC to function. The technicians would scout the cooling and heating companies in the region for the component. The other buildings at the school had a hybrid HVAC system that was well maintained but since the labs were rarely used except during tests, there was a lot of neglect. The technicians from the home comfort business worked through the night to get the lab ready for the test. This gave us time to further prepare for the new paper. They had to give us a new paper since we had already seen the questions on the initial one. I aced this test and I think it was partly because I got more time to prepare.
