Opening the Door Feels Great

There is something wonderful about October and November.

October is the time of year when we start to have an occasional day where no air conditioning is needed.

I live in the south, so the days without a/c are rare and limited, that’s for sure. Because of all that reliance on a/c, we all tend to have pretty high utility bills, which is no fun at all, of course. Now that we have reached autumn and pumpkin everything can be found in retail establishments all over the country, I am happy that we have been able to turn off the air conditioning and open the door. The open door does not work every day, but it is frequent now. In fact, the door is open right now, and I Don’t even have to supplement with the ceiling fan! In fact, I am about to go looking for a pair of socks to keep my feet warm. It is not cold enough for the heater, don’t get me wrong. If I start to long for the heater, I will just shut the door! The office is a whole different issue, though. The HVAC at the office never works right. I was cold all summer when the a/c was blowing, and I figured I would be hot today because I figured the heater would be blowing. But no, not at all. The a/c was still blowing, and I was freezing, as usual. I bought myself a portable heater, and I plugged that sucker in today. Too bad I can’t turn off the HVAC and open the door at work!
